This is one of the best defenses I have read for placing books which may not meet everyone's standards for subject matter in the children's section in a public library.
It is written by James Larue, Director of Douglas County Libraries, Castle Rock, Colorado in response to a person who challenged a book.
Recommended reading for anyone with an interest in fighting censorship, particularly in an American context.
